Purpose
The BT Bombwell provides a protective cover for subsurface instruments against harmful wellbore fluids and vibrations.
Description
BT Bombwells generally consist of 4 components:
1. Fishneck 2. Tube 3. Bottom Sub 4. Springs
Application
BT Bombwells are typically run in applications where the wellbore environment is harsh or there is a chance of damage to subsurface instruments due to vibrations or movement of the tubing.
Precautions
Care should be taken to ensure the instruments being used are cushioned by the springs, this is to say that the springs should not be bottomed out, also ensure that if the instruments are being put into a harsh environment, that the proper inhibitor is utilized within the Bombwell chamber to protect the instruments from corrosion.
