Float Valve Equalizing Sub
Provides a safe means of bleeding wellbore pressure from below a retrievable float valve.
The BT Float Valve Equalizing Sub consists of six main components:
1. T Handle2. Shaft3. Nut4. Male Back-up Ring5. Female Back-up Ring6. Snap Ring
The BT Float Valve Equalizing Sub is utilized at surface when there is a need to bleed the pressure from below a retrievable float valve, these are generally installed into a common profile nipple.
The BT Float Valve Equalizing Sub can be fitted with any number of cross over swages for the particular thread needed, once the BT Float Valve Equalizing Sub has been attached to the corresponded thread swage and attached to the drill string, simply screwing the shaft downward will push the float off seat and allow pressure to be bled off through a threaded port and down a hose to be vented safely away from personnel.
Care should be taken to ensure that the BT Float Valve Equalizing Sub is kept in good working order and that all seals are properly maintained.
