R Check Set

Purpose

To confirm that the BT “R” Locks have been set in the appropriate landing nipple.

Description

BT R Check sets are made up of 3 components:

1. Fishneck

2. Core

3. Body

Operation

Install desired shear pin and attach to tool string, lower into wellbore. Set down on top of lock mandrel and jar down, remove tool string from wellbore and inspect the BT Check Set Tool.

If the pin is sheared in the BT Check Set, this will indicate that the lock mandrel is set correctly, if it is not sheared, this will indicate that the fishneck of the lock mandrel is not.
