The Dual Wireline Valve is a wireline pressure equipment installed between the lower lubricator section and tree connection (Wellhead) to contain well pressure in order to allow wireline equipment to pass through. It consists of two sets of actuators and typically will hold pressure from below. It offers facilities for the emergency and contingency procedures. When closed, it enables the well pressure to be separated and released from the lubricator while keeping the well bore valves open.
