The Brace Tool Safety Timer is designed to activate downhole slickline tools electronically. It’s designed with a patent-pending technology which ensures operational safety of tools by activating only at the correct preset time in the well bore.
The Brace Tool Patent-Pending Technology eliminates the potential failure points associated with traditional mechanically activated downhole slickline tools. The electronically activated timer simplifies the cutting process, ensuring optimal performance and reducing risks during operations.
Brace Tool will preset the Safety Timer to the required setting prior to supplying to the customer responsible for using the tool on the jammed, or bound line. After installing and mounting the tool on the line, the battery is connected to the timer by removing a plastic insulator sub which initiates a timer sequence.
The tool must be lowered into the wellbore to the desired depth before the set time (typically set at 60 minutes). When using the Safety Timer with the sandline cutter, a bind should be applied to the line before the timer finishes the countdown. The reduction of the weight will indicate a successful cut.
After a successful activation, remove the tool from the well bore. Note that the batteries must be disposed of and that the safety timer must be reset by Brace Tool after each tool activation. Multiple safety timers and battery packs will be required for multiple deployment.
