While we don’t typically see our downhole tools in scientific field studies, a recent collaboration with Wisconsin IceCubeParticle Astrophysics Center shows how our team at Brace Tool went above and beyond for the Radio Neutrino Observatory in one of the most extreme environments on Earth – the Arctic.

A Global Science Mission in the Arctic

The RNO-G Project (Radio Neutrino Observatory inGreenland) is a groundbreaking research initiative with 35 stations equipped with surface and sub-surface components to enhance the detection and reconstruction of neutrino events.

Providing the Suitable Equipment

To support their expedition, Delia Tosi from the RNO-G team turned to Brace Tool for assistance in providing the suitable equipment for an aspect of their project that requires subsurface exploration. Darren Hallock guided their conversation and collaboratively came up with a plan and provided some equipment such as the Termination Rope Socket, Fingered Overshot, GS Pulling Tool, along with other deployment tools to meet their unique needs.

Working Through the Challenges

When a delivery conflict suddenly came up, Darren, Kateryna, and Tetiana from our customer support team acted immediately. They worked closely with shipping partners, resolved logistical challenges, and ensured the equipment arrived at the customer’s preferred destination on time.

Thanks to their proactive support and clear communication with the customer, the issue was resolved smoothly and without impact on the project timeline. The team at RNO-G were pleased with the outcome and are now moving forward with the tools in place — ready to move forward with their exploration with confidence.

Going Above & Beyond

This isn't a typical job for our Brace Tool and that’s exactly why it matters.

When a scientific team working in subzero conditions, managing remote logistics, and handling sensitive equipment needs tools they can trust, they look for the same things our customers do: equipment reliability, product expertise, and a supplier that goes above and beyond for their customers.

We're proud to have contributed to this extraordinary project, and to see our equipment helping drive scientific discovery on a global scale.
